ITANAGAR, Dec 08: In a representation to the chief minister today Eastern Arunachal
People’ Welfare Organization (EAPWO) demanded for the shifting of head of department
offices from Itanagar which meant for eastern zone somewhere in eastern Arunachal
for easy access and administrative convenience. Further the organization requested
the government for the decentralization of financial allotment to for the developmental

Demwe Power project affected people demand compensation
ITANAGAR, Dec 08: The Anjaw area project affected families (PAF) of 1750 mw Lower Demwe Power project in a letter to Vice President of Athena Demwe Power Project Ltd, Tezu demanded immediate release of compensation amount.
The PAF said that the company has taken the land under land acquisition process and the company has already paid the compensation to inhabitants of Lohit district. But the payment against Anjaw district has been kept pending due to which the beneficiaries are facing mental harassment.

Death of student leader mourned
ITANAGAR, Dec 8: Former deputy speaker of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) and one of the contesting candidates for the post of general secretary in 24th AAPSU election, Tale Dasi breathed his last at Daporijo yesterday morning. He has left behind his wife and a son. Late Dasi had reportedly received serious injuries in a road accident at Narayanpur (Assam) on his way from Shillong to Doimukh to participate a platform speech regarding AAPSU election during the last week of October. Though he was rushed to a Delhi based hospital for treatment doctors attending on him gave up all hopes and he was brought back to Daporijo recently.
Meanwhile, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union has expressed deep shock at
the demise of Tale Dasi. In a condolence message, AAPSU outgoing president Takam
Tatung said, “We have lost a brother, friend in Tale Dasi, who was a dedicated and
hardworking son of the soil. It is a great loss for the society and his camaraderie
will always be remembered.” While conveying its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved
family members, AAPSU also prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed

‘Music a powerful tool to awaken society’

ITANAGAR, Dec 08: The 4th Nyishi Idol organized by Nyishi Art and Culture Welfare Society with the motto of providing platform to young artistes of Nyishi Community to exhibit and show their talent was formally inaugurated at Siddhartha Hall here today evening.
Speaking on the occasion, renowned Nyishi singer Bengia Hemanto appealed to the singers of the community to awaken the society through music instead of going for making money only. Music is such a powerful tool through which we can spread message and communicate with masses in ways that no other medium can, he said. Describing career options in music and singing, Hemanto, also member of Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi encouraged the young artistes to take up music sincerely through which one can earn livelihood and live a dignified life.

A total of 17 upcoming singers from Papum Pare, Kurung Kumey, Lower Subansiri, East Kameng and Charduar under Sonitpur district in Assam are participating in the singing talent hunt.
The first prize carries Rs. one lakh along with a laptop sponsored by MLA Techi Kaso while the second and third prizes carry Rs.50,000 and Rs.30,000 respectively along with laptops. The sponsors of second and third prizes are former Kimin ASM chairperson Tai Tayu and former MP Kiren Rijiju. Two consolation prizes of Rs.10,000 are sponsored by ANYA president Bamang Taji. Arunachal to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in grand manner
ITANAGAR, Dec 08: Along with the rest of the world, Arunachal Pradesh is going to celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with the theme “Wake Up Bharat ! Enlighten The World” from January 12, 2013 to January 12, 2014.

Briefing the media persons about the hectic preparation for the year long celebration, Taffo through a powerPoint presentation informed that 45 district and block level Ayahojan Samities (organizing committees) have been formed in Arunachal Pradesh to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swamiji in a grand manner.
The celebration aims at spreading the message of Swami Vivekananda to all the section of our society. “Swamiji was a revolutionary thinker who triggered the renaissance of the Indian nationalism. He emphasized on the awaking of the masses without any hurting the faith and belief system.
With the view of promoting social harmony the committee has targeted mainly five segments (panchamukhi) of the society, namely i) Yuva Shakti, ii) Prabuddh Bharat, iii) Gramayan, iv) Samvardhini and v) Asmita during its year long celebration.
Nabam Atum, state organizing committee president appealed all section of the people of the state to join the celebration irrespective of their caste, creed and religious belief.
Addressing the mediapersons, Prant Pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra Arunachal Pradesh Dr Joram Begi, also the director of Higher and Technical education hoped that the celebration will provide ample opportunity for the youth of the state to motivate themselves in right direction.
“While Arunachal Pradesh is passing through a transitional period, its youth force is not properly guided or motivated,” Begi, who is also national level celebration committee member said and adding ‘celebration is a great opportunity for us to take care of our youth.” Dr J Padu, Leki Phuntso, R Dorjee and V N Sharma also spoke on the occasion. ARSU decries rampant deforestation in Dazzelling area

Scholarship for Arunachalee students
ITANAGAR, Dec 08: In an endeavour to encourage the students of the state the Heema Hospital and Research Centre, Itanagar along with Smt Sharada Education Trust (SSET) has decided to provide scholarship to 10 Arunachalee students on merit basis, informed Chief Managing Director, Heema Hospital Dr Byabang Rana this evening.
He said that it had started the programme under the banner of Pliris Consulting Service near Heema Hospital last year and received good response from the students and parents. The organization has decided to provide tuition fee of 10 meritorious students directly of the college associated with the Trust.
